Extensive waterproofing work was completed by Permaseal Pty. Ltd. on the ATFI building at the James Cook University (JCU) in Cairns. This recent renovation project shows a promising trend and acceptance of the Government sector towards the necessity of professional waterproofing. (Especially in our tropical climate)

The busy inner Cairns city accommodation at the Inn Cairns was in need of major waterproofing work. This building is not very old and shows an unfortunate yet common trend of new buildings showing failing signs of water proofing due to incorrect procedure by under-qualified contractors. Problems like this could have been avoided in Permaseal Pty. Ltd. were in charge of the constructions water proofing.

Showing a different kind of water damage other than the obvious is presented on some recent renovation work we carried out at Central Plaza Cairns. The architraves and window surrounds on this building were made from rendered and painted foam which, after only a few short years, proved to be more of a sponge which sucked water and moisture to the inside of the building. The result of this was mould and mildew stains on the inside walls of the apartments. Permaseal Pty. Ltd. carried out extensive repair work and then preventative water proofing to ensure this problem doesn't occur again.

The new luxury apartment complex called Pavilion Cairns will be water proof for years to come thanks to the pro-active forethought of the developer in having Permaseal Pty. Ltd. carry out extensive water proofing on the project during construction. All new projects should be built with professional waterproofing with Permaseal Pty. Ltd. in mind if they are to avoid potential damage and expense from waterproofing as an afterthought.
